PICTURE: Water Crisis In Harare
The water crisis in Harare continues with some suburbs going for months without water. In most cases, the water that is pumped to residents’ homes is dirty and not suitable for domestic purposes.
This has forced some to rely on borehole water which the city fathers have also condemned saying that it is not safe for drinking purposes.
The erratic supply of water has resulted in some residents to default payment of rates arguing that they will not pay for services which are not there.
In the picture below, a white late is seen fetching water from a borehole. A large percentage of white people in Zimbabwe live in medium to low-density suburbs where most of the services are provided on a regular basis.
The picture therefore suggests that the water crisis is now ubiquitous.
