Govt Sets Aside $600 Million To Cover 1 Million Vulnerable Households For The Next 3 Months

The government of Zimbabwe has set aside $600 Million to cushion 1 million vulnerable households through a cash transfer program for the next 3 months, The Herald reports.
This was revealed by the Finance Mister yesterday as he was announcing treasury’s plans to mitigate COVID-19. Professor Ncube said:
Vulnerable groups in our society are the most exposed under this Covid-19 crisis. Accordingly, Treasury has set aside resources to cover one million vulnerable households under a cash transfer programme and payment will commence immediately.
FeedbackTreasury will initially be availing an amount of $200 million per month under a cash transfer programme over the next three months and both the amount and duration of payments will be reviewed as necessary.
