"It Was A Mix-Up," Govt On Reports That Coronavirus Case 15 Violated Isolation Regulations

The Ministry of Health and Child Care has said that contrary to earlier reports that a coronavirus patient number 15 had violated isolation regulations, it was actually, case number 16.

Bulawayo health authorities said that case 16 is now under quarantine at Thorngrove Infectious Disease Hospital. Acting Bulawayo Provincial Medical Director Dr Welcome Mlilo said:

I really was not keen to discuss the individual cases per say, patient 15 and patient 16. But on this one, I think I will make an exception; it is proper for me to set the record straight.

Patient 15 as far as we are aware, as far as our response team, has been fully in compliance with self-isolation protocol which is in place.

Reports had suggested that case 15, a 34-year-old nurse, had violated self-isolation protocol and was reported to have left her residence and went to other parts of the city.
