Senegal Devise A $1 COVID-19 Testing Stratagem & A 3D Printed $60 Ventilator - Report

Senegal has reportedly developed a COVID-19 testing tactic that has reduced the cost of testing for the novel coronavirus by 900%. Equity Axis reports. According to the publication it also reduced the cost of ventilator acquisitions by 266 times.

According to the publication:

A laboratory in Senegal has used its AIDS and Ebola experience to develop a COVID-19 testing kit costing $1 each. A sharp contrast to what people are charging today to test for COVID-19—in some cases $10 to $20 for a serology test, and more than $100 for a genome test.

The import cost of a ventilator to Senegal is US$60 000 but thanks to block blustering research in Senegal they have devised 3D printed ventilators at a cost of just US60, dumbfounding western and eastern health advances.

Testing for the novel coronavirus is still costly in most African countries with some COVID-19 isolation facilities lacking ventilators due to their steep acquisition costs. Senegal has 671 COVID-19 and 283 recoveries so far.
