Lovemore Moyo, MDC-T 2014 Structures Chairman Returns To Active Politics

While in an interview with a Daily News reporter, former Parliament Speaker and MDC T National Spokesperson Lovemore Moyo has announced that he was returned to active politics and he has launched his own party, the United Movement for Devolution (UMD).

While answering the question about his silence about the economic and political woes bedevilling the country, Moyo said:

Remember, after my resignation from the MDC in 2018 and my subsequent pronouncement that I was not contesting for any public office in 2018 elections, I decided to take a political sabbatical to introspect on a number of political decisions and actions.

However, I am delighted to announce my return to active politics. Hopefully, my re-entry into politics will significantly contribute to the struggle for democratisation, devolution, development, equality and justice.

Moyo also spoke about his new party UMD and said:

My political life has been less hectic, but moderately exciting, especially given the fact that I was now watching the political game from the terraces. However, the formation of UMD has redefined my purpose in politics and I feel re-energised politically.

Currently, I am heavily involved in the political reconstruction agenda of the nation in line with Chapter 14 of the country’s Constitution which seeks to establish devolution of power. The future of our political movement is bright and exciting.

Moyo resigned from MDC after the death of Morgan Tsvangirai and has refused to be roped into the squabble that wanted to pity him against one of the MDC formations and he has remained neutral by refusing to take a side in the matter.
