Stanley Nleya, who succumbed to heart disease last week on Tuesday at UBH will be buried on Tuesday at the National Heroes Acre after he was declared a national hero on Friday, ZBC News reports.
According to the publication, the family has requested that the body lie in state at Nleya’s rural home before it comes to Harare for burial.
The Nleya family spokesperson said they had made the request on behalf of Stanley Nleya’s mother:
We made the request because his mother is still alive but she is now bedridden due to advanced age.
Nleya was a ZIPRA commander during the liberation struggle, and he is said to have trained Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander General Phillip Valerio Sibanda.
