Mahere Slams 'Mnangagwa And Khupe's Unholy Alliance'
The MDC Alliance led by Nelson Chamisa has castigated the “unholy alliance between Mr Mnangagwa and Ms Khupe” following the expulsion of its nine MPs from Parliament this Tuesday.
The expulsion came after MDC-T acting secretary-general Douglas Mwonzora wrote to National Assembly Speaker Jacob Mudenda advising him that the nine MPs had ceased being members of the party.
MDC Alliance officials have consistently accused the ruling ZANU PF of manipulating state institutions such as courts and the police, in support of the MDC-T led by Thokozani Khupe to destroy their party.
In a statement on Tuesday evening, following the expulsion of the MPs, MDC Alliance spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere condemned the development which she characterised as a violent onslaught on the will of the people. She said:
The MDC Alliance condemns the recall of nine of its MPs as announced by the Speaker of Parliament today.

This recall is a violent onslaught on the will of the people who elected MDC Alliance MPs into Parliament.
We take the firm view that state institutions, including Parliament, are being abused to reverse the will of the people and replace it with an unholy alliance between Mr Mnangagwa and Ms Khupe.
This great reversal of the people’s will by Zanu PF is a continuation of the electoral theft of 2018.
The nine MPs who were recalled this Tuesday are Amos Chibaya (Mkoba) Happymore Chidziva (Redcliff) Basilia Majaya, Mutarairwa Mugido, Virginia Muradzikwa, Anna Muyambo, Francesca Ncube, Nomathemba Ndlovu and Murisi Zwizwai (Harare Central).
Last month the MDC-T recalled Kuwadzana East MP Chalton Hwende, Chikanga-Dangamvura MP Prosper Mutseyami, Bulawayo East MP Thabitha Khumalo and Senator Lilian Timveos from Parliament.
