Efforts by concerned citizens in South Africa to protest against their president Ramaphosa re-opening schools did not for today bear much fruit as learning in different schools in the Western Cape Province went ahead uninterrupted, SABC News reports.
According to the publication:
The Western Cape Education Department says schooling was largely uninterrupted today despite some protests in Cape Town. Some teachers are concerned about a spike in coronavirus cases as learners in Grades R, 6 and 11 returned to the classroom. 19 school staffers have died of COVID-19 in the province to date.
