Glimmer Of Hope For Aston Villa After 2-0 Win Over Crystal Palace
Relegation-threatened Aston Villa boosted their survival hopes with a vital 2-0 home win over Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.
Villa are now four points behind Watford and West Ham, moving them up to 18th and they face Everton next time out.
Two goals from Egyptian winger Trezeguet wrapped up the win, the first coming in stoppage time at the end of the first half before the winger scored his second midway in the second.
Villa could have scored more, with Conor Hourihane and Ezri Konsa both going close, along with having a penalty decision overturned by VAR.
Zimbabwean international Marvelous Nakamba started the match on the bench and came onto the pitch in the 80th minute for Hourihane.
Villa, now 18th on the log, have accumulated 30 points, with both West Ham and Watford with 34 points with only three games left.
Meanwhile, Norwich City were relegated to the Championship last week after losing 4-0 to West Ham.
