Ministry Of Health COVID-19 Update 17 July 2020 - 19 Year Old Boy Succumbs To COVID-19

Zimbabwe recorded its 24th COVID-19 death yesterday, the deceased is a 19-year-old who had no history of travel. This was contained in a Ministry of Health update which also confirmed Zimbabwe recorded 58 cases yesterday:
Fifty-eight (58) cases tested positive for COVIO-19 today These include returnees from South Africa (10), and 48 local cases who are isolated
Thirty two (32) of the local cases are contacts of known confirmed cases. Investigations are underway to establish the source of infection for the other 16 cases
FeedbackThirteen (13) recoveries were reported by the following provinces; Mash Central (6), Mat North (3), Mash East (2) and Manicatand (2)
Today we regret to report 1 death at a facility level in Bulawayo Province. The death is a 19-year old male who tested positive for COVID-19 today and had co-morbidities

Today 1214 ROT screening test and 979 PCR diagnostics tests were done The cumulatiye number of tests done to date is 99 701(59 606 RDT met 40095 PCR).
Since the onset of the COV10-19 outbreak on 20 March 2020, the total number of confirmed cases is 1420; recoveries 438, active cases 958 and 24 deaths
