Some Tourism Players Not Following Reopening Safety Procedures And Protocols - Report
Some tourism players are reportedly breaching laid down re-opening procedures and protocols put in place by WHO and the government to curb spreading the novel coronavirus, the Chronicle reports. The matter came to light as the ZTA Public relations manager Godfrey Koti was warning such operators that ZTA will close them down if they are non-compliant.
Koti said the ZTA quality team was doing inspections and they will not hesitate to close those found on the wrong side of the law:
It has, however, come to the attention of ZTA with great concern that some operators are not following the guidelines and protocols as well as the conditions set out in the above Statutory Instruments.
FeedbackOperators are advised that ZTA regulatory and quality assurance team in conjunction with the relevant arms of Government, will be rigorously monitoring and enforcing compliance. Any breach will leave the authorities with no option other than to close those operations found in breach.
This comes after the government decided to reopen the tourism industry for domestic tourists after a 3 month long lockdown.
