Mwonzora Plotting To Recall All MPs And Councillors Who Attended Miriam Mushayi's Funeral - Report
Court resurrected MDC T Secretary-General Douglas Mwonzora is planning to recall all MDC Alliance legislators and councillors who attended Miriam Mushayi’s burial and cheered on Chamisa as he attacked him, New Zimbabwe reports.
At the funeral in Hurungwe Chamisa said:
I am really disappointed with his level of selfishness and that Mwonzora has sunk so low. He is claiming to defend the legacy of the late Morgan Tsvangirai by destroying what he (Tsvangirai) built. You claim you want to defend his legacy when you do not even know the origins of Tsvangirai.
FeedbackSources said the statements by the firebrand politician, angered the Thokozani Khupe-led faction and formation led by Khupe is reportedly closing in on the “errant” lot, which continues to show allegiance to Chamisa and ignoring the Supreme Court ruling that declared Khupe the legitimate leader of MDC-T.
When contacted for comment, Mwonzora denied the allegations by saying:
No that’s not true. Why should anybody be recalled for attending a funeral? We only recall people on the basis that they have ceased to be our members. This behaviour, inimical of the late Robert Mugabe is not helpful to a society desperate for a new breeze of politics, free from hate and intolerance,
However, both Mwonzora and Komichi once denied that they will recall councillors in revenge recalls after their candidate lost to MDC Alliance candidate Jacob Mafume a few days before it recalled 11 councillors and virtually paralysed Harare City Council.
