Opening Of Traditional Chinese Medicine Centre Hailed
The opening of the Zimbabwe-China Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture Center at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals (PGOH) on Friday has been hailed as a milestone in Zimbabwe’s healthcare system.
Speaking to the media yesterday at the launch of the centre, Director of Pathological Services in the Ministry of Health Maxwell Hove said:
This is a very important development for us, that we have a place where our patients can have their pain relieved without being operated, without going into invasive procedures.
FeedbackEven if we have a shortage of medicine, a shortage of analgesic pharmaceuticals then we know there is an alternative place where they can go and have their pain relieved.
The Director for Traditional Complementary and Integrative Medicine in the Ministry of Health Onias Ndoro told Xinhua that China’s traditional health care system provides valuable lessons to Zimbabwe.
