Warriors To Play Malawi Friendly In Blantyre
The Malawian Football Association has confirmed the dates of a friendly match with the Warriors of Zimbabwe during the upcoming October international break.
In a statement, the Malawi FA said The Flames will play the Warriors on 11 October 2020, at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
The match will come after the hosts had played Zambia in their other friendly in Lusaka on the 7 October. The statement read:
The Flames will play friendly matches against [Football Association of Zambia (FAZ)] and [the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA)] during the FIFA International window next month.
The Flames will travel to Lusaka for the match against Zambia on October 7, 2020, before hosting Zimbabwe at the Kamuzu Stadium on October 11, 2020.
The trip to Malawi will be the first for the national team since that fateful 2017 Afcon qualifier in 2015 which was marred by poor travel arrangements.
Meanwhile, if ZIFA manages to secure another friendly match, possibly against Kenya, during the international break, it would be played before the trip to Blantyre.
