Travelers From Tanzania To Be Tested For COVID-19 At All Ports Of Entry
The Health and Child Care Ministry has ordered that travelers coming into Zimbabwe from Tanzania will now be subjected to a mandatory COVID-19 test at all ports of entry, The Herald reports. This was after it emerged that travelers arriving aboard Air Zimbabwe and Air Tanzania were submitting inconsistent records.
In a statement announcing the development, the health Ministry chief director preventive services Dr. Gibson Mhlanga said the development was a way to protect the public from the virus that brought the world to a standstill and killed 265 Zimbabweans.
This comes exactly a week before the country opens borders to African travelers following the cabinet’s decision to let people move freely begging next month.
