'This Is The Final Push', ED Speaks On Lockdown
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said it was necessary for the government to impose another strict lockdown to curb the spread of the COVID-19 second wave.
In a statement posted on his social media channels, President Mnangagwa said the lockdown is the final stroke in dealing with the resurgent coronavirus. He said:
Zimbabwe is entering a second lockdown to stop the spread of a #COVID19 second wave.
FeedbackPlease, for the sake of your family and loved ones, avoid large gatherings and non-essential travel.
This is the final push – let’s defeat this virus for good.

On Saturday, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, as Health Minister announced that the government will enforce strict lockdown regulations under Level Four to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The measures will be reviewed at the end of 30 days.
President Mnangagwa commenced his annual leave on 1 January and will resume his official duties in February.
In his absence, Vice Presidents Kembo Mohadi and Constantino Chiwenga will take turns to be Acting Presidents.
