Benyu 'Ready' To Grab Warriors Opportunity
Warriors midfielder Kundai Benyu said that he is ready to leave a mark in the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) set to be hosted by Cameroon.
The United Kingdom-born 24-year-old Knattspyrnudeild Vestri midfielder was named in coach Norman Mapeza in the 23-man Warriors squad for the AFCON tournament. Said Benyu:
I will do my best to run things on the pitch and do what I have to do.
FeedbackIt’s time, I’ve been on the fringes for a long time and now it’s really time to show people what I’m about.
Benyu last played for the Warriors in 2017 when he featured in two friendly matches against Lesotho and Namibia.
He was subsequently called up for the Warriors several times but didn’t show up due to issues to do with his passport.
Benyu will join the rest of the squad in Cameroon together with other Europe-based players Jordan Zemura, Tinotenda Kadewere, Admiral Muskwe and David Moyo as well as captain Knowledge Musona who is based in Saudi Arabia.
