Government Gazette 26 March By-elections Results

The government has gazetted the results of the 26 March by-elections. Mr Utloile Silaigwana, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) elections officer, said the names shown in the gazette are of individuals who were duly elected in the elections and have with effect from the 27th of March to represent respective constituencies. See attached below.

Opposition Citizens Coalition for Change led by Nelson Chamisa won 19 National Assembly seats while the ruling ZANU PF won 9 of the 28 seats that were vacant.

An official gazette is the legal newspaper of a country which publishes the text of new laws, decrees, regulations, treaties, legal notices, and court decisions.

The laws published in official gazettes are primary law in the official source; publication in the gazette, in many cases, initiates jurisdiction.
