Robbers Pounce On Businessman, Get Away With Cash, Isuzu Vehicle, Diesel
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is investigating a robbery case that happened in Mutoko in which a local businessman lost cash and vehicle and other properties to armed robbers.
In an update on the case, the ZRP said the two robbers were armed with two pistols a machete and an axe. Reads the police report:
On 24/05/22, ZRP Mutoko recorded a robbery case where four unknown suspects, armed with two unidentified pistols, a machete, and an axe, attacked a local businessman and his family in Mutoko Medium Density.
FeedbackThe suspects stole US$2 150 cash, three cellphones, 45 litres of diesel, groceries, and an Isuzu KB 300 vehicle, all valued at US$10 476. Police reacted swiftly and mounted a roadblock at Janhi Road, where they intercepted the stolen vehicle. However, the suspects sped through the barrier resulting in a chase with the police.
Police say on noticing that they were being followed, the robbers ditched the car and disappeared into the darkness.
