Zimbabwe Weather Report And Forecast 11 - 13 June 2022
The Meteorological Services Department of Zimbabwe has released a weather report and forecast for the period 11 – 13 June 2022. Pindula News presents the report and forecast below:
PREAMBLE
ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON SATURDAY 11 JUNE 2022 VALID UNTIL MONDAY 13 JUNE 2022.
The windy conditions which prevailed yesterday across much of the country suppressed the occurrence of ground frost in most areas. However, slight ground frost occurred at Kezi, Matopos and West Nicholson this morning. The relatively moist south-easterly airflow which was steered into the southern areas from the Indian Ocean resulted in cloudy and windy weather in Masvingo, parts of Mashonaland East and Manicaland in the morning. Light rain and drizzle were reported at Buffalo Range, Chipinge and Chisengu.
FORECAST FOR TOMORROW SUNDAY 12 JUNE 2022
Parts of Masvingo, Manicaland and Mashonaland East and Central including Harare Metropolitan should be cloudy and cold with a freshening wind at first. becoming less cloudy and cool by afternoon. The rest of the country (all Matabeleland Provinces, Bulawayo Metropolitan, Midlands and Mashonaland West Province) should experience mostly clear skies and cold weather in the morning. It should become mild by the afternoon.
IMPACTS
• Wintry conditions both night and day may affect the body’s health with common colds influenza and fever as well as asthma being prevalent.
• Ground frost may negatively affect both plants and livestock.

• Nights, when the sky is clear, are actually much colder than those where cloudy conditions persist.
ACTIONS TO TAKE
• Dress appropriately to keep warm especially overnight. and mum vulnerable members of society are warm as well.
• Poultry producers should note that broilers are sensitive to temperature variations and therefore need to be checked regularly and adjustments made.
• Farmers in areas prone to ground frost should undertake frost prevention measures such as overhead irrigation of crops usually at night /early in the morning.
