Handing out title deeds will just worsen the situation, unless title deeds are given based on the productivity of that certain farm. Not everyone is a farmer and certainly not everyone deserves farm title deeds.

Farm owners should be given bankable title deeds to capacitate them. In that way unyielding farms would repossess themselves by failing to service the bank loans. Most of our farms are lying idle in the hands of politicians who lack farming expertise, farming is a fulltime business it needs full commitment. All politicians cannot be farmers, same with minining. Some politicians are given mining claims and then abuse the land doing chikorokoza. Policies on farms and mines must be revisited. Let the people fully own the farms, that in itself is an incentive for them to work the land. Not this 99 yr lease, then you follow them up with a command system... No no no. The Government of Zimbabwe has announced plans to withdraw over 20 farms allocated under the land reform programme but have not been put into productive use.
In a public notice released last Friday, the Government cited that among others, abandonment, double allocations, and desertion of the plots or farms as the reasons for land offer withdrawal, reported <a href="https://www.businessweekly.co.zw/govt-to-repossess-farms/">Business Weekly</a>.
The plots or farms set to be repossessed include Silverstroom Estate in Muzarabani, Tsapato of Wilsbridge of Barwick Estate in Mazoe, Kent Farm in Marondera, Sligo Farm in Seke, and Eddesleigh in Goromonzi.
The beneficiaries of the farms which the Government intends to possess are being invited to make any representations in writing within 14 days of the publication of the notice.
