Two PSL Club Owners Set To Contest In ZANU PF Primaries

Two owners of Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs Innocent Benza and Farai Jere are set to contest in the weekend ZANU PF primary elections, reported the Chronicle.

Benza plays for and owns Herentals Football Club, while Jere is the president of CAPS United Football Club and the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

Benza is eying Mutasa Central constituency in Manicaland Province, while Jere wants to contest the Murewa (Murehwa) West constituency in Mashonaland East Province on a ZANU PF ticket in the upcoming general elections.

Prominent football administrators who have been voted ZANU PF MPs in the past include former ZIFA president Phillip Chiyangwa and his deputy Omega Sibanda, as well as the current interim ZIFA president Gift Banda.
