Carol Mujokoro is a Zimbabwean gospel musician.

Background

She was born in Goromonzi and grew up in Chitungwiza. She is married to Blessing Mujokoro and together they have 4 children.

Career

Carol started singing before crowds at a tender age of eight and became a member of her church’s Praise and Worship Team and also started leading in Praise and Worship at that young age. Together with her sisters, she formed a family band which was known as The Blessed Sisters which was invited to perform at many church conferences.

At the age of sixteen, Carol recorded her first work with EGEA Gospel Train; the album Mufudzi Wangu. She recorded three more albums together with EGEA Gospel Train namely Ndinokudai Jesu, Vimba NaJehova and Kutenda. In 1996, she recorded her first solo album, Ropa RaJesu, which was followed up by seven more albums recorded between 1999 and 2011. In 2003, she became the first Zimbabwean artist to record a music video in Israel, aptly named Carol Mujokoro In The Holy Land. Her 12th album Champions was released in 2011.


Awards

In 2000, Carol scooped the Tinotenda Siyabonga Annual Music Award (TSAMA) for Best Female Artist. Another award came in 2012, the ZimPraise legendary award in recognition of Carol’s contribution to Zimbabwe gospel music since 1992. She also received the PERMICAN award from ChristTV in September 2014.

Becoming a Pastor for ZAOGA FIF

In 2008, Carol enrolled at Africa Multination For Christ College (AMFCC) where she trained as a Pastor for three years. She went on to attain a degree (Friends University), a Masters Degree and a Doctorate with the Triune university.
