Dakarai Gwitira

Dakarai Gwitira also known as Dakari or DG is a Zimbabwean born music producer and DJ based in the United States of America. Gwitira has produced for USA hip hop artist G-Eazy and Zimbabwean musician Hillzy who is signed to his imprint Cider Sounds.

Background

He moved from Zimbabwe to Texas when he was 12 years old, 10 days after the 9/11 attacks.^[1]

Career

When he was 20, he moved to New York where he started interning there at Quad Studios, where he met G-Eazy. Eventually Dakari became the head engineer, met G-Eazy a few years later, then moved to Los Angeles. He produced G-Eazy's 2017 album The Beautiful & The Damned which debuted at number 3 on the US Billboard 200 and became certified Platinum in January 2019. He also released his debut single “Enough” featuring G-Eazy, Tommy Genesis and Jozzy.^[2]
