Seven members of the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) were yesterday promoted from the rank of Colonel to Brigadier-General, effective February 16. Addressing ZNA officers during the investiture ceremony held at Josiah Magama Tongogara Barracks, ZNA Commander Lieutenant-General Edzai Absolom Chanyuka Chimonyo commended the newly-promoted ZNA officers[1]

Col. Ernest Shamu was the Chairman of the Warren Hills Golf Club. "A special thank you to Club Chairman Colonel Ernest Shamu for spending the day with us and hope that he enjoyed the Nomadic camaraderie." [2]

Brigadier-General Inspectorate, Brig-Gen Ernest Shamu addressed a joint graduation ceremony of 90 students who underwent training in three different combat engineering courses at Pomona Barracks in November 2018. He said the Engineers Corps were as pivotal as all other units in the organisation and ought to be professional and dedicated. Of the 90 graduates, 14 undertook the Zimbabwe Engineer Young Officers’ Course (ZEYO), while 43 trained in the Combat Engineering Class Two (CE II) and the remainder in Combat Engineering Class Three (CE II). [3]
