Help:Weekly Check List for Editor

This is a checklist for the Editor to do on a weekly basis, Friday preferably, for the website to be “prepared/refreshed” for the week ahead.

Update Featured Article

For instructions on how to edit the Featured Article, go here.

  1. Alternate through specific topics throughout the month. Politics, Sports, Entertainment, Business, Places, etc
  2. Topic needs to be of someone/something that has contributed immensely to that category/industry
  3. Featured article needs to be of no more than 3 paragraphs, 2 is best, and paragraphs are to be short, about 3 lines at most
  4. Image needs to be added that depicts the article. Image size is 150px
  5. List the last 5 featured articles that have taken place on the front page

Update Did You Know

For instructions on how to edit the Did You Know section, go here.

  1. Have a varied selection of Did You Know's.
  2. They must not all be of one category.
  3. Have one on sport, on politics, on entertainment, on business, etc
  4. They must bring out the WOW in the article, that will interest the reader to want to know more about that topic
  5. Add 1 image for every 2 "Did You Know's"
  6. Image needs to be added that depicts at least one of the Did You know's (preferably the first/top one). Image size is 150px

In the News

For instructions on how to edit the In the News section, go here.

  1. News needs to be items of high significance
  2. Something that has a bearing on the profile of the person/business/entity
  3. Try to be varied with the categories that are listed
  4. Have one on sport, on politics, on entertainment, on business, etc
  5. Add a relevant image with each news item

Article Clean Up

Often an editor must check that any new articles that are created by external contributors confirm to the standard of Pindula. Changes/edits will need to be made if necesarry

  1. Go to Recent Pages and look at the names of the contributors
  2. Check out the contributions that have been made and edit as necessary and changes that do not conform to our standards
  3. Block and delete and changes that are irrelevant to the platform
  4. Block and delete the User as well
