Jason Zhuwao is a Zimbabwean Politician and nephew of former president Robert Mugabe. Jason served as the Zanu-PF director for youth affairs and also as the party's youth league information official from August 2016 to November 2017. Zhuwao currently serves as the Chairperson of the Robert Mugabe Institute, an organization founded to preserve and restore the legacy of Robert Mugabe
Early life
Jason was born on the 25th of March 1993 and grew up in Eastlea,Harare. He attended Admiral tait primary school and attended his high school in South Africa.
Political career
He started his political career at the tender age of 15 serving in local politics as a campaign team member for the then Zanu PF candidate for the Harare central parliamentary seat. He was groomed by his father Patrick Zhuwao and grandmother Sabina Mugabe. In 2014 Zhuwao was appointed election logistics manager for the then-aspiring member of parliament for Highfield west Psychology Maziwisa he then was tasked to represent the youth league as its spokesperson towards the one million men march in solidarity with Robert Mugabe.
Education
He graduated with a degree in political Sicence and a higher diploma in Diplomacy and international relations.
Zhuwao penned down some articles in the Sunday Mail newspaper defending Zanu PF and Robert Mugabe's rule, in one of the articles of February 2016 Zhuwao called for the declaration of Robert Mugabe's birthday as a national holiday which is today known as the Robert Mugabe National Youth Day.
Defending Gushungo Dairy
In 2017 Zhuwao sparked controversy when he defended former president mugabe's Gushungo Dairy Products by castigating claims that Emmerson Mnangagwa was poisoned after eating ice cream from Gushungo dairy, during a presidential youth interface in Gwanda[1]
Modeling careeer
Zhuwao is also a model and was voted the most handsome man in Zimbabwe by the Zimbabwe models awards.[2]
