Management Training Bureau

MTB was established in 1984 under the Zimbabwe Manpower Planning and Development Act (Chapter 28:02) with a mandate to Provide management development courses and consultancy services in an endeavor to bridge the skills gap of various management levels in all sectors of the economy in Zimbabwe and beyond.

Background

The mandate was given after the Government realized that there was a management vacuum which had emerged as a result of the post-independence skills flight in the early 1980s. Over the years, various other factors such as the AIDS pandemic and the brain drain phenomenon of the 2000s also affected the development of human capital and as a result, there has been a continued existence of the skills gap.

MTB is a self-sustaining institution under the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development through the Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund.

Consultancy Services

These are offered in all sectors of the economy.

The organization outsources facilitators and consultants drawing from our database that is constantly being updated. It believes in engaging highly qualified experts with hands-on experience in their respective areas of expertise so as to add that vital practical element to the knowledge that participants may already possess.

Accommodation Facilities

  • The accommodation facilities have a capacity to host 100 delegates.
  • They are in the form of executive, single and double rooms.
  • All our rooms have DSTV, Tea making facilities, WIFI, Back-up power, Boreholes and water storage tanks, 24-hour security and 3 car parks with a capacity of 200 cars.
  • A bar to meet your relaxation and refreshment requirements after a long day of conferencing or training.

Catering Facilities

MTB has two restaurants which have the capacity to host up to 200 people.

Conference Facilities

  • MTB has 20 conference rooms with varying capacities of between 10 and 150 people.
  • conference rooms come fully equipped with state-of-the-art furniture, air conditioners, and ICT Equipment.
  • flagship is a 200 seater soundproof auditorium which again comes complete with state-of-the-art ICT Equipment and air conditioners.
  • MTB has a scenic garden with gazebos that can be used for informal breakaway groups and which provide a relaxed ambiance to stimulate fruitful debate. The scenic garden is also ideal for weddings, product launches, parties, cocktails, and exhibitions. Tents, chairs and other decor items can be provided at an extra cost upon request.
  • MTB also has an executive bar and an executive lounge which can be hired for private functions and cocktails.
