News:Council Worker Dies On Duty After Being Run Over By Reversing Refuse Truck

<vote /> A Harare City Council employee, Nahor Mushavi, died on Tuesday after being run over by a reversing refuse collection truck. He was 43.

The city’s acting communications manager Mr Michael Chideme confirmed the incident,

Harare City Council wishes to announce with a deep sense of regret the death of one of its loyal employees Nahor Mushayi from the Works Department (waste management section) who passed on this morning (Tuesday) during his routine tour of duty.He was run over by a reversing waste collection truck in the Borrowdale Brook area and died on the spot.

Mr Mushavi joined Council in August 2012.

Last year, two Harare City Council employees died in a suspected case of suffocation after they were trapped in a wastewater manhole during an operation to unblock a sewer line in Msasa Park.
