News:Council introduces swipe machines
<vote />
Harare City Council is in the process of introducing swipe machines in its revenue halls across the city amid the cash crisis. Acting corporate communications manager Mr Michael Chideme confirmed this development by citing why council was considering introducing swipe machines,
"The introduction of swipe machines is part of the measures to afford the city's customers in settling their bills especially now when there's a liquidity crunch in the country."
This move by the council is in tandem with government's call for the increased use in plastic money. Council has already completed a deal with CBZ which will see the bank accepting payments from ratepayers from all their branches countrywide.
