News:Driver Hits And Kills Police Officer At Eastlea Roadblock. Police Launch Manhunt
<vote /> The Zimbabwe Republic Police has launched a manhunt for the driver of a Mazda Bongo vehicle who fatally hit a policeman manning a roadblock in Eastlea on Thursday and sped off. Police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the death of the police officer. She warned the motoring public to desist from such acts.
The deceased police officer waved down the vehicle in question which was heading towards Epworth.The driver failed to comply and hit the cop as he sped off.
Commenting on the issue Charamba said,
It is very unfortunate that a police officer loses his life in such a way. The driver of the Mazda Bongo acted in an unlawful manner and cannot get away with it. The long arm of the law will catch up with him.
If caught the driver will be charged with culpable homicide charges and failure to comply with lawful orders.
