<vote /> While presenting the midterm monetary policy review in the capital today, RBZ Governor John Mangudya mentioned that the culture of free inputs where we don't pay for them must end because that is taxpayers money.

He also highlighted that in other countries farmers who get inputs and abuse them are jailed but that doesn't happen in this economy.

Government recently introduced a new scheme, termed Targeted Command Agriculture, is expected to target farmers near water bodies who can put a minimum of 200 hectares under maize per person. Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa who is the chairperson of the Cabinet Committee on Food Security and Nutrition, revealed that seed, fertiliser and chemical manufacturing companies pledged support for the command agriculture initiative.
