News:War Veterans Plan To Protest Against Corrupt Ministers. Vow To Demonstrate Against Mugabe Or Boycott Heroes Celebrations

<vote /> During a press conference in Harare today, Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association said that they plan to protest against corrupt ministers at their offices. They also said that Zanu-PF leader Robert Mugabe has a tendency of recycling corrupt ministers.

The war veterans also vowed that they would demonstrate against Mugabe or boycott this year's Heroes Day celebrations. The war veterans pointed out that President Mugabe does not own the revolutionary party. War veterans of recent have urged government to support the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission in probing high ranking government officials implicated in corrupt practices. (read full story here)

Civil groups such as the This Flag Movement have called for the resignation of ministers implicated in corrupt scandals. One such minister they have called on to resign is Samuel Undenge who was involved in a Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority Holdings tender scandal with Wicknell Chivayo. This Flag called on Zimbabweans to sign a Petition asking Undenge to resign.

During an interview with 263Chat two weeks ago, war veterans' spokesperson Douglas Mahiya encouraged government to listen to the people since they were the ones that democratically elected them into office.
