<vote /> At least 21 Zimbabweans travelling to South Africa were attacked and robbed of their valuables 40 km out of Pretoria along the N1 Highway.

The protesters also burnt the Eagle Liner bus that the Zimbabweans were travelling in. Eagle Liner proprietor Mr Dhalib Ishemael confirmed the incident and said the victims had taken refuge at the Hammanskraal police station. On the condition of the victims and the situation in South Africa, Ishmael said that,

"All the 21 passengers are safe. It's still volatile, we are yet to get to the ground. We are waiting for the police to calm the situation. We also heard that there was another bus from another company that was burnt down as well. This is very unfortunate."

Sources in South Africa have mentioned that haulage trucks and other vehicles that use the same route were also burnt.
