Background
Kumalo was born and brought up in Bulawayo.
As an adult, she migrated to the UK to study and graduated with a Nursing Diploma and a degree in Midwifery.
Career
Kumalo worked as a clinical midwife in the UK until she left clinical practice in 2000 when she embarked on a health service management career until she became an entrepreneur around 2006.
She has said that when she worked in the NHS she had been frustrated at the waste of resources in the system and the lack of collaborative working between health and social care. This, she said, led her to set up her first business, a system change management consultancy practice called KK Consultants Limited.
Entreprenership
In January 2018, Kumalo launched a new ambulance service Rubatsiro Ncediso Emergency Medical Services in Harare. She started the business after she had failed to get an ambulance of the same standard as in the UK when she needed one in Zimbabwe.
Awards
In 2018, Kumalo won the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards Professional of the year award.
