Selo Maselo Nare is a Zimbabwean Legal Practioner, Retired Justice and he was appointed Chairman of the Peace and Reconciliation Commission in February 2018 by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.Nare is a council member of the Gwanda State University.

Background

Nare is an Elder in the Church of Christ Congregation in Bulawayo.


Career

Nare started his career in 1998 as a senior magistrate. He was then appointed President of the Administrative Court in Harare in 2001. In 2003 He became President of the Administrative Court in Bulawayo. He retired his post in 2013.


Appointment as the Chair of the Peace and Reconciliation Commision

In February 2018. President Emmerson Mnangagwa in provisions of Section 251 (1)(a) of the Consitution of Zimbabwe Amendment(No.20). Appointed Retired Justice Selo Masole Nare as the Chairman of the Peace and Reconciliation Commission. The bill was signed in January 2018 and had been appointed in 2016 by former President Robert Mugabe.
