Talent Chawapiwa is a Zimbabwean footballer who has played for several local and South African clubs.
Career
Chawapiwa played for Baroka before joining AmaZulu. In July 2021, he joined Sekhukhune United from AmaZulu.[1]
In March 2022, Talent Chawapiwa joined National First Division club Platinum City Rovers after two months as a free agent. At Sekhunene United, Chawapiwa struggled for game time and was limited to only eight appearances with no goals during the first half of the season.[2]
Baroka FC signed Chawapiwa in July 2017 from Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League club FC Platinum after his outstanding performances at the Cosafa Cup tournament that year.
In 2013 Chawapiwa was playing for Harare City, where he remained until 2016 when he completed a transfer to ZPC Kariba after rejecting a new contract from Harare City.[3][4] In early 2017, Chawapiwa joined FC Platinum.[5]
In 2019, he was named in the final Warriors squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Egypt. He played in two of the three group matches.
That same year, Chawapiwa joined AmaZulu. He struggled for game time before joining Sekhukhune United in 2021.[6] He was released by the club in January 2022.
He then joined South African National First Division Platinum City Rovers and at the end of last season, the club decided against renewing the short-term contract he had signed.
In January 2023, Chawapiwa was spotted at newly-promoted Premier Soccer League side Simba Bhora’s training sessions.[7]
