A 29-year-old man was fatally stabbed in the chest in Southlea Park, Harare, on Saturday during a dispute over a girlfriend.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed that David Nyaudzani was attacked by 25-year-old Takudzwa Gadzira at a butchery near Runwave Service Station and was later pronounced dead at a local clinic.
In another disturbing incident, a 72-year-old man from Matobo was arrested for allegedly killing a 39-year-old man over a yard boundary dispute.
The victim, Mncedisi Ndebele, confronted Gibson Ndlovu while armed with a machete but was disarmed and killed with his own weapon.
A statement from the police released on Sunday detailed the events surrounding these incidents. Police said:

The ZRP confirms that Takudzwa Gadzira (25) was arrested on 19/10/24 in connection with a case of murder which occurred at a butchery near Runwave Service Station, Southlea Park, Harare in which David Nyaudzani (29) died.
The suspect stabbed the victim with a butcher knife once in the chest following a scuffle over a girlfriend. The victim was ferried to a local clinic where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The body of the victim was ferried to Sally Mugabe Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
In another case, Police in Matobo arrested Gibson Ndlovu (72) in connection with a case of murder which occurred at the suspect’s house in Tombo Village, Matobo on 19/10/24 at around 0300 hours in which his neighbour, Mncedisi Ndebele (39) died.
The victim allegedly confronted the suspect armed with a machete, accusing him of encroaching into his yard before striking the suspect on the left hand with the machete.
A scuffle ensured and the suspect disarmed the victim of his machete before striking him indiscriminately all over the body with the machete.
The suspect later dumped the victim’s body on a rockery which is in his yard.
The body of the victim was conveyed to the United Bulawayo Groups of Hospitals mortuary for post-mortem.

Man (29) Fatally Stabbed Over Girlfriend, Elderly Man Murders Neighbour Over Yard Boundary

Police in Bulawayo have arrested an 18-year-old Form Three learner for murder after he allegedly fatally stabbed another Form Three learner in the chest with a knife.
In a statement posted on their X page, Police said the now-deceased 17-year-old learner was stabbed in the chest with an okapi knife on Wednesday, 20 September at Magwegwe North Shopping Centre.
The victim was stabbed for allegedly assaulting the suspect’s friend aged 16, who is a Form Four learner. Police said:

Police in Bulawayo have arrested a Form Three student (18) in connection with a case of murder that occurred at Magwegwe North Shopping Centre on 20/09/23 in which another Form Three student (17) died after being stabbed in the chest with an okapi knife.
The victim had slapped the suspect once on the face after accusing him of assaulting his friend (16) who is a Form Four student.

In an unrelated murder case, which occurred at Village 13B, Mkosi Resettlement in Masvingo on Saturday, a 34-year-old man is on the run after allegedly killing another man for insulting his wife. Police said:

Police in Masvingo are appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of Taurai Murozvi Mabisvo (34) who is being sought in connection with a case of murder in which Ernest Chakauya (43) died on 16/09/23 at Village 13B, Mkosi Resettlement.
The suspect struck Ernest Chakauya (43) with a log on the head resulting in the victim hitting a metal stove with the head after falling down.
The victim had insulted the suspect’s wife. Anyone with information to report at any nearest Police Station.

Form Three Learner Fatally Stabs Classmate

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has launched a manhunt for a Bulawayo man, Thulani Lunga, who allegedly murdered his girlfriend, Silungile Tshalibe, in cold blood following a dispute.
ZRP national spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said they are concerned with murder cases emanating from lovers’ differences.
He appealed to members of the public to shun violence and resolve differences in a peaceable manner. Read the statement by Asst Comm Nyathi below:

MURDER OF A WOMAN IN BULAWAYO FOLLOWING A DISPUTE WITH A BOYFRIEND
The Zimbabwe Republic Police is appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of a suspect, Thulani Lunga.
The suspect is wanted in connection with the callous killing of his girlfriend, Silungile Tshalibe (44) of Pumula South Bulawayo.
The two were drinking beer at Mutamba Sports Bar on 11th June 2022 when they had an argument and went out of the bar.
They went to a certain house where a witness tried to resolve the dispute without success.
The suspect was later seen leaving the scene whilst holding a kitchen knife with the victim’s body lying in a pool of blood.

Bulawayo Man Fatally Stabs Girlfriend With Kitchen Knife

Police in Midlands Province have implored members of the public to desist from boarding pirate taxis (mushikashika) after a Redcliff man was robbed around midnight on Wednesday.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson in Midlands, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, confirmed that a 32-year-old man was robbed after he had boarded a pirate taxi without number plates. He said:

The Zimbabwe Republic Police is investigating a robbery case whereby one, Tatenda Ranganai, a man aged 32 years of Mbizo, Kwekwe, boarded an unregistered silver Toyota Vitz at FBC Bank, Kwekwe, at about 2230 hours.
(He was in the company of) John Chandiwana, a male aged 39 years, and Nkosinathi Khumalo a male aged 41 years, both of Redcliff, Kwekwe.
The vehicle had two occupants, including the driver.
Along the way, the driver diverted the route and stopped at a secluded place.
The suspects produced knives and threatened to stab the three while demanding cash and valuables.
Cash, cellphones and various groceries were taken from the three before they were dumped by the suspects, who drove back towards Kwekwe Central Business District.
We are appealing to members of the public, with information about the suspects in these cases, to approach the nearest Police.
Once again, we urge members of the public to desist from using Mushikashikas for transport, people should always use public transport.
