Mugabe to commission Victoria Falls International Airport this Friday

President Robert Mugabe will this Friday commission the new look Victoria Falls International Airport that was refurbished following a $150 million expansion project started in February 2013.
Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe (CAAZ) general manager David Chaota described the completed airport and said that it has a new international terminal building, a new 4km long by 60m wide runway, extended parking areas for aircraft, new control tower, new fire station, new road networks, a new state of the art international passenger terminal building and a refurbished domestic terminal with a capacity to handle 1.5 million passengers per annum.
Expansion work was also done on a new fire station with a capacity for five fire engines, a water tower, car park, sewer ponds and a water tank. China’s Exim Bank funded the upgrading work through a loan facility while China Jiangsu carried out the construction.
