Zanu PF accused of using intimidation tactics in Chimanimani West ahead of by-election
Zanu PF has been accused of using intimidation tactics ahead of the Chimanimani by-election scheduled for this Saturday.
Independent candidate, Edmore Mtetwa, said his rallies were being disrupted by the ruling party. He also said that military vehicles patrolling the constituency have left his supporters in fear. Speaking to NewsDay, Mtetwa said,
The level of intimidation is now alarming, since last week when army trucks began roaming around the constituency. Every time I have a rally, they try to disrupt it by creating a programme near where I will be conducting my rally. I don’t know what they will be trying to do.
FeedbackHe also accused Zanu PF Manicaland youth chairman, Mubuso Chinguno of mobilising youths to intimidate his supporters. However, Chinguno dismissed his claims saying that Mtetwa was now afraid of losing.
