e-MAP Form One Enrolment court challenge withdrawn. Ministry to continue using website
The company that was challenging the ownership of the e-MAP system in court has withdrawn its challenge. This means the the Ministry of primary and Secondary Education is now free to continue using the system.
The software company, Purple Divine Technology, had claimed that that it owned the form one enrolment system. The ministry’s lawyers argued that a different company called ZimAssist owned the system.
According to the Herald, Justice Chitapi then said that the application was defective and improper before the court. This led to the withdrawal of the challenge.
Dokora said of the withdrawal:
People must learn to appreciate that which is helpful for the system,” he said in an interview. “We want a transparent mechanism that will assist all our people, rich and poor, all our people in the rural and urban areas, as well as the farming communities to benefit from a transparent system.
