Doctors at Chitungwiza Central Hospital (CCH) yesterday joined their striking colleagues and nurses at public hospitals, who are demanding a review of their working conditions.
In a letter to CCH by Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors’ Association (ZHDA) dated March 1, government medical officers announced they have withdrawn their services to pile pressure on the government to review their working conditions. Part of the statement reads:
ZHDA would like to inform you that general medical officers will not be able to discharge their duties from March 1, 2017 until further notice.
