MultiChoice Zimbabwe announces that there will be no annual price increase this year
6 years ago
Multichoice Zimbabwe has announced that contrary to its custom, it will not be increasing prices of DStv this April. This will be welcome news for Zimbabweans after DStv South Africa increased prices by 4-8 percent last month.
The company acknowledged that the Zimbabwean economy is very harsh at the moment and cited it as the reason for keeping prices the same. Here is part of the statement:
The company made this decision to keep annual subscription prices at their current level despite a particularly tough year it has faced due to a number of harsh macro-economic headwinds in the markets it operates in on the continent. From falling commodity and oil prices which affected economies and exchange rates and the ever-rising costs of satellite capacity, there has been quite a number of external economic factors which have created a challenge for us. However, we recognise that we’re not the only ones feeling the pinch.
