Cyber Crime and Computer Bill is about social media abuse and not 2018 elections: Supa Mandiwanzira
Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Supa Mandiwanzira has refuted speculation that the Cyber Crime and Computer Bill was not being introduced to for the 18 harmonised elections. Mandiwanzira argued that the bill is meant to curb social media abuse. Addressing a cyber security workshop in Harare yesterday, Mandiwanzira said:
It is important that we have this law as of yesterday, not tomorrow and not today because our people are being abused.
They are vulnerable and we need to protect them.
FeedbackA lot of people are likely to draw parallels that we are having elections that is why they want to move with it.
Well, elections will always be there, but what is more important is to protect our people.
