Teacher's union says New Curriculum is forcing teachers to use their own funds, due to lack of resources
The Zimbabwe Teachers Association (Zimta) has complained that the New Education Curriculum is forcing teachers to use their own funds due to the lack of resources needed to implement the new curriculum. The new Curriculum was introduced in January this year and is reportedly negatively affecting teachers in the rural areas especially, due to the disparity in resources between urban and rural schools.
Zimta president Mr Richard Gundane said:
Teachers need books among other materials in order to effectively implement the new curriculum.
FeedbackSome of the teachers are using their own money to access material from the internet which they then use to teach the pupils
