Speaking to journalists in Bulawayo, Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko called for the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) to be disbanded and for new people to be appointed.
Mphoko said that Zimbabwe is currently not benefiting from ZACC which he accused of paying allegiance to some individuals in the Zanu-PF government. He said while there has been looting of precious minerals such as gold, diamonds and chrome, ZACC is only prosecuting certain individuals in government and some parastatals. Mphoko said the country needs a robust anti graft unit which will deal with criminals that continue to commit economic crimes through illegal dealings in foreign currency.
