Chihuri booed at Mnangagwa's swearing in ceremony, Here's how people reacted on Twitter
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Commissioner General Augustine Chihuri was booed during the swearing in ceremony of President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Chihuri was booed while pledging his allegiance to the new leader.
The booing maybe associated with the police attempt to arrest Zimbabwe Defence Forces commander Constantino Chiwenga when he arrived from China. There is also a narrative that Chihuri was against Chiwenga who is viewed by many as a hero after the military intervention led to Robert Mugabe’s resignation on Tuesday. Chihuri was reportedly arrested for his alleged links to G40. Another reason why people booed him could be that police are regarded as as corrupt. Below are the reactions of people on Twitter to Chihuri being booed:

Chihuri booed at inauguration. I bet you Grace Mugabe would get better reception and love than the cops. Those people just arent loved in this country #ZimInauguration

If I was Augustine Chihuri, The Chief of Police, I would simply resign under the pretext of retirement. He is now a tainted figure. That booing is the longest I have ever witnessed in this country of a public official.
