Mutsvangwa Claims That Mnangagwa Was Prevented From Appointing Inclusive Cabinet By Tsvangirai
War veterans leader and newly appointed Special Advisor to the President, Christopher Mutsvangwa has claimed that President Emmerson Mnangagwa was prepared to name MDC-T members of parliament in an inclusive cabinet. According to Mutsvangwa, the President was not able to name an inclusive cabinet after outrageous demands from MDC-T President Morgan Tsvangirai who allegedly wanted a position in the Presidium. Mutsvangwa alleged Tsvangirai threatened to expel any MDC-T members if Mnangagwa appointed them as ministers.
Addressing a Zanu PF Mashonaland West Provincial Coordinating Committee in Chinhoyi, Mutsvangwa said:
President Mnangagwa wanted to pick some MDC-T members for ministerial posts, but held back after the party’s leader, Mr Morgan Tsvangirai threatened to expel from his party prospective appointees unless the opposition leader was himself given a post in the praesidium.
