President Emmerson Mnangagwa has extended the lifespan of Zanu-PF’s Central Committee for the next five years so that they can stop competing for positions ahead of the 2018 elections.
The five-year term of the Central Committee members was supposed to expire in 2019 when the next Congress was due. Mnangagwa said recent events in Zanu-PF where procedures were not followed should not be allowed to happen again. He encouraged the Central Committee to build the economy, to create jobs and also to improve on service delivery instead of taking revenge on people who allegedly belonged to G40.
