Zanu-PF To Hold Primary Elections Mid-March

Zanu-PF Political Commissar Retired Lieutenant General Engelbert Rugeje has announced that the party will hold its primary elections mid March, in preparation for the elections to be held at a yet to be announced time later this year. Rugeje said this during a meeting in Bulawayo to appraise the province on the recent developments in the country.
Zanu-PF’s commissariat also gave the provincial leadership up to the 28th of next month to come up with elections for cells, district and provincial structures. Rugeje said Zanu-PF’s Politburo will come up with guidelines on how the primary elections will be conducted and added that the era of imposing candidates is over.
The meeting was attended by Bulawayo Metropolitan Provincial Minister of State Affairs Angeline Masuku, Politburo member Joshua Malinga, Zanu PF deputy secretary for youth affairs Lewis Mathuthu, war veterans and other party officials.
